Resetting QtWeb

If you use a shared or public computer, you may want to reset QtWeb to prevent other people from seeing which webpages you’ve visited.

Full reset will restore all settings to the state as if QtWeb never run on this machine. No traces of browsing will be left locally.

To reset some settings:

  1. Choose Privacy > Reset QtWeb, or press Ctrl+Alt+R key combination, or click Reset toolbar button.
  2. Deselect any items you don’t want to reset:
    • History: Clears the stored addresses of webpages you've viewed.
    • Cache: Clears the temporary location on your computer where QtWeb saves webpages you’ve viewed. The cache helps webpages load more quickly.
    • Downloads: Clears the list of files you’ve downloaded from websites and removes files themselves.
    • Cookies: Removes cookies that websites have stored on your computer.

    • Passwords: Deletes saved user names and passwords, being used in some forms for auto-fill.
    • SSL Certificates: Removes all approved SSL certificates, the ones that caused SSL errors.
    • Close all QtWeb windows: If you don’t close all QtWeb windows, someone could use the Back and Forward arrows to view the webpages you've visited.
